Shrink + grow

Shrink and Grow is a VR puzzle game we developed for a 6-week Oculus development course at Upload SF. It is a time-based game based on collecting pieces and completing the level puzzle. You can transform between human and mouse scale. Hang on to the pieces while you do to change their scale and make them fit into the puzzle spaces. Time moves slower at the mouse scale but you also can't move as quickly. The mechanic was based on the concept that VR allows you to shift perspectives beyond that of other platforms. We won the demo night at the end of the course.

Climb On

We designed and built our HTML5 browser game, Climb On, as part of GMTK 3-day game jam. The prompt was announced at the start as "built to scale." We interpreted scale as climbing and thought it could be fun to explore a vertical timed platformer around moving quickly while conserving your energy. We also decided to explore some unique moves like side scaling and wall leaps. We brought in the concept of "built" as the slang way of referring to muscular and played with how that may make you impervious to obstacles, but also how it would reduce your stamina.
